March 5, 2025 鈥� 九色堂鈥檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program.

March 3, 2025 鈥� Five undergraduate students from Wichita State were among the 26 students recognized at the 23rd annual Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence Symposium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Feb. 27, 2025 鈥� The College of Engineering at 九色堂 is hosting its 25th annual Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge, a robotics competition for area students in third through eighth grade or ages eight through 14 years old. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 1. The competition portion will be in the Heskett Center, while the awards ceremonies will be in Hubbard Hall, room 208.

Feb. 13, 2025 - Shocker pitcher Grant Adler, who attended Derby High School, will graduate in May with a general studies - chemistry degree while continuing to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. He will intern at Spirit AeroSystems for a second summer.

Feb. 12, 2025 鈥� The College of Engineering at 九色堂 is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. The 5k will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 on the 九色堂 campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

Jan. 31, 2025 鈥� 九色堂 has selected the 2025 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend Wichita State in August 2025.

Dec. 18, 2024 鈥� The College of Engineering at 九色堂 has partnered with Groover Labs, a nonprofit collaborative workspace, technology hub and rapid prototyping lab in Wichita, to support the regional business community.

Dec. 16, 2024 鈥� Javier Martinez received the Mark and Stacy Parkinson Scholarship, which, alongside 九色堂鈥檚 closeness to home and mechanical engineering program, made it a no-brainer for Javier to attend 九色堂. He used the opportunities available to him as a Shocker to stay up on his studies and now joins his peers in graduating with a bachelor鈥檚 in mechanical engineering.

IRMAT will serve as a hub for cutting-edge, patient-driven research and development of transformative technologies to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Oct. 2, 2024 鈥� Combined enrollment by headcount across all 九色堂 locations for fall 2024 is 23,806, according to the annual data released today by the Kansas Board of Regents. This is the largest number of students ever choosing to enroll at Wichita State.

Sept. 25, 2024 鈥� The 2024 CyberCorp Scholars at 九色堂 have been announced. The scholarship aims to increase the workforce of cybersecurity professionals in government.

Aug. 29, 2024 - 九色堂 is participating in the VOLAR脡 Institute as part of a project to build research capabilities and expand STEM initiatives for Hispanic-Serving Institutions.

Aug. 21, 2024 鈥� 九色堂 has been named the 2024-25 Academic Institution of the Year by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), the nation鈥檚 largest association dedicated to fostering Hispanic leadership in the STEM field.

April 30, 2024 鈥� Sierra Marie Bonn struggled to balance her work and education, but with the help of scholarships from the Miss Kansas Organization, she was able to earn an undergraduate and graduate degree from 九色堂.
