May 14, 2020 --听Rhian Cunningham is as creative as they come, with her constant doodles and calligraphy notes, her personality shines through. Currently, she is an intern in the Office of Strategic Communication where she gains hands-on experience in graphic design. After graduation, she is unsure of her next steps but will spend time figuring out what she hopes to do.

May 14, 2020 -- Kayla Deines has spent her fair share of time in college but it's allowed her to pursue a path she's passionate about. Skilled in marketing, communications and design, Kayla hopes to land a communication job in higher education.

May 13, 2020 - Claudia Rojo graduates this spring and will begin a graduate research assistantship at the National Institute for Aviation Research while finishing her final season of outdoor track eligibility in 2021. Rojo, like all seniors in spring sports, was granted the option to extend their eligibility after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled spring sports. In 2019, she finished second in the heptathlon in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

May 13, 2020 -- In the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings of universities offering a Ph.D. in engineering, the College of Engineering at 九色堂 is again ranked in the top 100 engineering graduate programs, the only institution from the state of Kansas to make it in the top 100.

March 12, 2020 鈥� Abel Barraza hasn鈥檛 shied away from challenges during his time at 九色堂. The first-generation college student from Dodge City not only undertook a rigorous curriculum that included fluid mechanics and calculus, but he also served as president of his fraternity during his demanding senior year.

May 12, 2020 -- 九色堂 looks forward to honoring the spring and summer 2020 graduates with the university鈥檚 first Virtual Celebration at 9 .m. Saturday, May 16.

May 12, 2020 鈥� Wichita State's Team Wire Pullers has advanced to the national competition in the Koch Innovation Challenge. The team 鈥� comprised of Braden Botkin, a sophomore in engineering technology; Adam Brown, a freshman in engineering; and Nicholas Ridpath, a freshman in applied computing 鈥� created a magnetic device to make pulling wires through walls easier.

May 11, 2020 -- In the midst of this pandemic, the Shocker Support Locker staff have found ways to continue offering their services to the Wichita State community.

May 11, 2020 -- Students in the Service in Learning Engineering class have found a way to help Kansas Girl Scouts earn their STEM badges from home.

May 8, 2020 --听Emily Reese plans to teach biology full time after graduation at a local high school. While in college she's been actively involved in her sorority, Tri Delta and has enjoyed her time studying in the College of Applied Studies.听

May 8, 2020 鈥� Brandon Eckerman is nostalgic about his time at 九色堂 and is disappointed he鈥檚 unable to celebrate graduation in the traditional sense. But he鈥檚 eager to start a career in medical device sales.

May 7, 2020 -- As our state begins to implement Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas, we too are beginning to develop and implement plans for the university鈥檚 short- and long-term future. This plan 鈥� Shockers United 鈥� is a culmination of seven working groups across campus, each comprised of students, faculty and staff, and each tasked with examining a different facet of university operations that must now be modified to a new normal as we seek to coexist with and thrive in spite of this virus.

May 7, 2020 -- For the fourth consecutive time, the Wichita State College of Engineering鈥檚 NASA in Kansas program has secured a multi-year, multi-million-dollar grant. The latest four-year award is for $2.8 million.

May 7, 2020 -- Leading up to the university shut down, Wichita State instructor and innovation design alum, Max Hinman and current innovation design student, Jared Goering worked together to design a virtual reality presentation that can be joined from any VR headset or computer.

May 7, 2020 --听Jade Mursch, a first-generation student, chose Wichita State to be close to family and the affordability. During her time on campus, she has involved herself with her sorority and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. She's excited about the opportunities that are ahead after graduation.
