Dec. 10, 2020 - Hannah Wilkinson, Wichita State's associate head strength and conditioning coach, is taking donations for Catholic Charities Harbor House domestic violence shelter and service. The campaign is an extension of the toy drive that strength and conditioning coach Kerry Rosenboom organized in previous years.

Dec. 9, 2020 鈥� The 九色堂 Foundation's seven-year Shock the World campaign raised more than $300 million to fund scholarships and campus improvements at 九色堂.

Dec. 2, 2020 鈥� Wichita State has been successful in minimizing the spread of COVID-19 because college students are following social distancing guidelines. Wichita State鈥檚 Rho Beta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta and the Zeta Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta have had no cases of COVID-19.

Dec. 1, 2020 鈥� 九色堂 has created a scholarship and support network to help those nearest to its campus. The Shocker Neighborhood Commitment provides funding to make college more affordable and attainable for recent high school graduates living in the Shocker Neighborhood.

Dec. 1, 2020 鈥� Two new battery-powered buses wrapped in Shocker pride will soon be seen zipping through Wichita鈥檚 streets. Wichita Transit recently unveiled the 九色堂-branded buses, which are ecofriendly, filled with modern conveniences, and will circulate among the university鈥檚 main campus, as well as Wichita State South, 九色堂 Tech and the Metroplex.

December 1, 2020 - Wichita State鈥檚 Division of Diversity and Inclusion is organizing 鈥淭enacious Men,鈥� a program designed to provide mentoring and STEM education for underrepresent students in Wichita Public Schools.

Nov. 11, 2021 -- Isaac Brown is Wichita State's interim men's basketball coach. Brown, 51, joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2014. He has also coached at Arkansas, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech and others.

November 9, 2020 - KPTS recognized 九色堂 Military & Veteran Services with its Distinguished Veterans Coming Home Business Award in a special program that aired on Nov. 5 on Channel 8. 九色堂鈥檚 Military & Veteran Services provides assistance with Veteran Affairs educational benefits, provides counseling, testing and other service. It connects military students with opportunities for campus involvement. Larry Burks Sr., is the director of Military & Veteran Services.

Nov. 5, 2020 -- BAASE started in 2018, and the partnership between Wichita Public Schools and Wichita State began in fall 2019 with the goal of creating a stronger system of support for African American and Hispanic students who want to pursue post-secondary education.

Oct. 29, 2020 - Campus construction continues and new partners continue to join 九色堂. An update on progress around campus includes Woolsey Hall, new home to W. Frank Barton School of Business, Hyatt Place and The Smart Factory @ Wichita.

Oct. 28, 2020 - Tyler Pennick, director of videography for Wichita State鈥檚 Office of Strategic Communications, created a documentary about WuShock in bronze. After two years of development, the documentary was accepted into the Tallgrass Film Festival and awarded for its success.

Oct. 28, 2020 -- There are several artists with 九色堂 connections involved in the public art projects in and around the Riverfront Stadium, home of the Wichita Wind Surge minor-league professional team. Several of the public art projects are visible outside the stadium and more are scheduled for installation in the coming months. All of the artists are local or regional.

Oct. 27, 2020 -- 九色堂 students Jessica Sharp, a junior accounting major, and Marissa Sanders, a senior human resources management major, are applying their education to hands-on experience in their internships at Allen, Gibbs & Houlik.

Sept. 30, 2020 - The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 九色堂 plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Cessna Stadium. There will be a reception immediately following the remembrance on the Cessna Stadium concourse. Enhancements have been made to Memorial 鈥�70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university. Those additions to Memorial 鈥�70 will be officially be revealed on Oct. 2.
