Dec. 11, 2019 -- Noah and Shauna Holloway are education majors in the Teacher Apprentice Program at Wichita State. They are parents of two who took classes while teaching full-time. They earned their degrees with help from family and by working with professors when life intervened.

Dec. 11, 2019 -- In nine months, interim president Andy Tompkins impressed almost everyone by putting a full-time effort into a temporary job, walking the campus almost every morning, touring every building, learning names and backgrounds and using his avuncular personality to put people at ease during a time of transition at 九色堂.

Dec. 11, 2019 -- Wichita State senior Gavrilla Arya excelled as a biological sciences major and helped the golf team to the 2016 NCAA regional. A native of Indonesia, Arya earned academic All-American honors four times.

Dec. 10, 2019 -- During Sydney's time at Wichita State she took courses that influenced her experiences and career path. She's loved her time on campus and appreciates all the opportunities she's lucked into.

Dec. 9, 2019 -- A $1.25 million gift from the estate of 九色堂 alumnus Brenton D. Myers will support the 九色堂 College of Engineering, where Myers earned the degree that helped him build a lifelong career in engineering and airport planning.

Dec. 4, 2019 --听Nayeli Cano is passionate about helping people and wants to work with underrepresented communities to provide equal access to health care for those in need.听

Dec. 6, 2019 -- Texas native Michaela Marioni moved to Wichita when her husband was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in 2015, and she decided to enroll at 九色堂. Originally a veterinarian medicine major, Michaela discovered her talent for video editing in a class and pursued it with a passion to her graduation this month.

Dec. 5, 2019 --听Andrew Martin has held many titles while attending Wichita State. He was the Director of Public Relations for SGA, served as a peer facilitator for the College of Health Professions and even has flown to new heights while getting his pilot's license. One thing for sure, Andrew's no average joe and wherever he lands, he'll soar.

Dec. 3, 2019 -- Madison Davis involved herself in multiple clubs and organizations while attending Wichita State. She took advantage of the different hands-on learning experiences and internships offered, which helped her grasp the concepts being taught. In January, she plans on attending graduate school and work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Dec. 2, 2019 -- Gabrielle Owens surrounded herself with strong mentors she could look to when she doubted herself at Wichita State. She also took advantage of the opportunities offered through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to successfully complete her master鈥檚 degree.

Nov. 4, 2019 -- Austin Clift prepared himself as much as possible to teach high school journalism, but nothing could ready him for his first day teaching solo at Wichita East High School. As a part of his preparation, he shadowed his predecessor through Wichita State鈥檚 Transition to Teaching program.

Nov. 1, 2019 - President-elect Jay Golden鈥檚 introduction speech indicates he learned much about Wichita State鈥檚 history and its mission. He spoke of reducing cost for students, of applied learning, the importance of the humanities and critical thinking and ties with business.

Sept. 27, 2019 -- The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 九色堂 plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 九色堂鈥檚 Memorial '70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university.

Sept. 26, 2019 -听Students Zeeshan Kahn and James Meli, along with alumni Emmanuel Daramola and Billi Meli, recently released their mobile application, aimed at connecting students through campus events. With more than 350 downloads so far, they are excited about the possibilities the app provides.

Sept. 17, 2019 - Brian Hargrove leads Visit Wichita's efforts to bring sports events to the city as executive director of sports development. Hargrove, a 1998 Wichita State graduate, works with the university on events such as NCAA basketball and The Basketball Tournament.
