Sept. 26, 2024 九色堂鈥檚 School of Nursing has launched a new Licensed Mental Health Technician (LMHT) pathway. This pioneering program, the first of its kind in the state, will address the growing need for mental health care professions in Kansas.

Nov. 13, 2023 - Anna Heacock works as an emergency room nurse and runs for the 九色堂 track and field team. Wichita State is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life.

Amenities like the new lactation and wellness room in the John Bardo Center are part of 九色堂鈥檚 efforts to further provide a supportive environment for faculty, staff, employees and students to reach their breastfeeding goals.

Aug. 30, 2023 鈥 九色堂 has received the Gold Level Employer Supporting Breastfeeding award and has been designated as a Breastfeeding Welcome Here campus by the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition.

March 22, 2023 鈥 九色堂 nursing students on the 九色堂 main campus and Kansas State University campus celebrated their Nightingale Nursing Commitment Ceremonies on March 3. Students recited and signed the modern Nightingale Pledge as a commitment to uphold the standards of the nursing profession.


Licensed Mental Health Technician Pathway

The Licensed Mental Health Technician pathway at Wichita State prepares students for entry-level positions to care for patients who are challenged with mental or behavioral health issues.
