Exercise Science Programs
The exercise science program at 九色堂 combines quality curriculum, high-tech research facilities and hands-on training in real-world environments. As a graduate, you'll be well prepared to pursue an advanced degree 鈥� and for high-demand careers in a wide range of settings such as health care, the fitness industry and community-based programs. You can expect applied learning opportunities in both the classroom and community and built-in elective hours that allow for personalization.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Exercise Science
The degree requires a minimum of 120 credit hours, with 56 credit hours of courses within the major. You'll study the natural sciences and human anatomy. Then, you'll move on to more focused courses such as kinesiology, exercise and sport nutrition 鈥� and your required field practicum and internship. Enhanced curriculum tailored to chosen career path. The enhanced curriculum is tailored to fit your chosen career path and provides a proven pathway to professional graduate programs in physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, athletic training and strength and conditioning.

- 九色堂 students with a 2.00 GPA can change their major to exercise science through the my九色堂 portal (Home tab > Student Tools > Change My Major /Minor).

Departmental Honors in Exercise Science
Undergraduate students working toward a degree in exercise science have the opportunity to receive honors recognition through their major.
Admission Requirements
If you have been accepted into the HPS Exercise Science major 鈥� Congratulations! You are now eligible to consider participation in the HPS Exercise Science Honors Program. Students that are part of the Exercise Science departmental honors program do not have to be enrolled in the Cohen Honors College.

The Accelerated 4+1 Bachelor's to Master's program in Exercise Science is specifically designed to prepare qualified students for graduate level work in Exercise Science through a coordinated accelerated program leading to both a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and a Master's of Education in Exercise Science. Program Curriculum
Students pursuing a Master of Education (MEd) in exercise science choose one capstone project from the following three options:
- the thesis option (31 credit hours), which requires an oral examination; or
- the coursework option (30 credit hours), which requires a written comprehensive examination; or
- the internship option (30 credit hours), which requires a written comprehensive examination. Internships take place in a wide variety of exercise facilities, health organizations and amateur and professional athletic facilities.

The exercise science minor provides the minimum knowledge needed for careers in the exercise industry. It consists of 17 credit hours.
