June 5, 2024 - 九色堂 is building on success with Shocker Pre-Season programs by offering adult learners a chance to start the school year confident and connected.

Sept. 5, 2023 - 九色堂 students designed handrails for Charles Koch Arena and producing around 400 for installation. The applied learning project will make walking up the arena stairs safer for fans and is a response to surveys and listening sessions.

Feb. 24, 2023 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 attracted new attention in 2021 during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥� and Wichita native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of Wichita students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥� featured the events in a 2021 broadcast.

Jan. 13, 2023 鈥� 九色堂鈥檚 efforts to improve vaccine equity are reaching throughout Kansas with the Increase the Reach grant program.

Dec. 12, 2022 鈥� Just in time for the surge of respiratory illnesses flooding the state, 九色堂鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Lab has announced it will extend free RSV, influenza and COVID (RIC) testing through March 31, 2023.

Oct. 14, 2022 - Savannah Paschal, a senior Spanish education major at Wichita State, wrote a proposal that helped Alce su voz earn a $75,000 Building Power and Equity Partnership grant from the Kansas Health Foundation. The grant will support civic engagement and the group鈥檚 work toward health equity for Spanish speakers and speakers of indigenous languages in Kansas.

Aug. 26, 2022 鈥� Wichita State鈥檚 Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentations program (NSF MRI) for a 500 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer.

May 26, 2022 鈥� An interdisciplinary team from 九色堂 will participate in a $24 million state initiative to help rural and urban communities prepare for and recover from natural disasters.

April 26, 2022 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 九色堂 is helping Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education with $40,000 in scholarships. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated 鈥�2+2鈥� program between the two schools where Butler students can receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at 九色堂.

March 28, 2022 鈥� The Office of Tech Transfer and Commercialization at 九色堂 has launched a program designed to connect experienced entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs with cutting-edge technologies and the opportunity to commercialize them.
