Inclusion in VOLAR脡 Institute offers Wichita State opportunity to enhance its research capabilities

April 3, 2024 - A mural titled 鈥淎delante Juntos 鈥� Forward Together,鈥� will cover Wichita State's Duerksen Fine Arts Center Amphitheater soon.

Nov. 3, 2023 鈥� 九色堂 is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life. To help with their transition, Wichita State offers a number of resources to first-gen students to support them during their time in college, including F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.

March 28, 2023 鈥� 九色堂鈥檚 chapter for Society of Professional Engineers will be hosting Noche de Ciencias for Wichita Public School students and their families from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at Wichita North High School.

Feb. 7, 2023 - A consortium of four local institutions (Wichita State, 九色堂 Tech, Newman University and Friends University) is bringing Dr. Gina Ann Garcia to Wichita for the talk 鈥淏ecoming Hispanic-Serving Institutions,鈥� at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 9, in Newman's DeMattias Performance Hall.

Wichita State focuses on serving students as it reaches Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution status

Dec. 5, 2022 鈥� 九色堂 earned status as an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution when fall enrollment numbers show that 16% of students identify as Hispanic. That is an important milestone on the way to the university鈥檚 goal of reaching the 25% necessary to earn designation as an HSI by the end of this decade.
