Students work in the Molecular Diagnostics Lab

Oct. 15, 2024 鈥 九色堂鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, a vital resource during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, is now leveraging its expertise to explore new frontiers. By addressing critical gaps in the healthcare system, the lab is also offering invaluable hands-on training for students, shaping the future of health care.

Sept. 25, 2024 鈥 九色堂 invites the community to join in its Shocktoberfest celebrations in a week full of tradition and Shocker spirit. Shocktoberfest, which runs Sept. 30 through Oct. 5, is the university鈥檚 biggest annual event and will include a brew garden, an entrepreneur鈥檚 market, parade and athletic events.

Aug. 29, 2024 - 九色堂 is welcoming vendors for its fall Shocktoberfest celebration. The deadline for merchants and vendors to join in the Shocktoberfest Family Weekend events is Aug. 31.Shocktoberfest is a public event Sept. 30-Oct. 5 open to the entire campus and Wichita-area community. It is 九色堂's biggest annual celebration of Shocker pride.

Aug. 26, 2024 - Casey Ratzlaff, a sport management major at Wichita State, will play in the men鈥檚 open division in the Paris Paralympics Games starting in late August. He is the top-ranked American and seeded No. 13 in the 64-man field.

July 9, 2024 Wichita State researcher and biologist Tom Luhring earned a $995,327 grant from the National Science Foundation to study the effects of drying and warming on aquatic systems, such as lakes, rivers and streams, and how these changes impact the waterbodies themselves and the organisms that dwell within them.
