May 3, 2022 鈥� Maria Romero Rodriguez came to 九色堂 from Madrid, Spain to study and compete in the pentathlon and heptathlon for the track and field team. She will graduate in May and compete at Cessna Stadium in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships with her family in attendance.

April 26, 2022 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 九色堂 is helping Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education with $40,000 in scholarships. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated 鈥�2+2鈥� program between the two schools where Butler students can receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at 九色堂.

April 26, 2022 鈥� WERX at 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research has completed the first pre-modification baseline test flight for the Kansas Modification Center鈥檚 777-300ERCF passenger-to-freighter conversion program.

April 11, 2022 鈥� The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 九色堂 has surpassed seven figures in annual scholarships for its students, with funds being distributed throughout the 2021-2022 season.

April 6, 2022 鈥� 九色堂 has been designated an Age-Friendly University for its leadership in research, education and care for older adults. Wichita State is the first institution of higher learning in Kansas to receive this designation. Being recognized as an AFU demonstrates Wichita State鈥檚 commitment to promoting healthy and active aging through research, enhanced learning opportunities for people across generations, and innovations that address issues affecting older adults.

March 28, 2022 鈥� Grammy-nominated rap star, actor and advocate Wale will perform in concert at 九色堂 at 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, in Charles Koch Arena.

March 24, 2022 鈥� A new initiative by Wichita State鈥檚 Public Policy Management Center and Sedgwick County is helping connect community members to resources that could help with economic recovery efforts. Recovery Connect focuses on helping people, small businesses and non-profits find existing resources in the community.

March 14. 2022 鈥� Things are shaking in Wichita with the Kansas Modification Center鈥檚 777-300ERCF conversion program at 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR). The team at NIAR WERX completed ground vibration testing last month.

March 10, 2022 鈥� 九色堂 President Rick Muma has launched a new podcast, called 鈥淔orward Together,鈥� where the president speaks with guests from throughout Shocker Nation to highlight the people and priorities that guide 九色堂. The podcast drops monthly, with the March edition releasing March 9. Some of the guests so far include Hollywood director Dean Hargrove, 九色堂 basketball coach Isaac Brown and 九色堂 research vice president Coleen Pugh.

On March 9, 2022, the B-1 System Program Office (SPO), Tinker AFB, OK awarded a six-year, $100 million follow-on contract to 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) to continue the B-1鈥檚 Digital Engineering (DE) transformation. The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) helped form the strategic partnership and created a flexible contract structure, which allows NIAR and the B-1 SPO to adapt requirements real-time to meet critical warfighter needs.
