Wichita State's Molecular Diagnostics Lab

April 6, 2023 鈥 With the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic behind us, 九色堂鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory will soon be expanding its focus to become a full microbiology laboratory.

March 30, 2023 - 九色堂 students use the editing suite at Shocker Studios for their video projects. The studio features theater lighting and seating, a 4K digital cinema compliant projector and a 200-inch screen. 鈥淣o one else has this, certainly no one in the Midwest,鈥 said Justin Rorabaugh, director of Shocker Studios.

March 16, 2023 - Kyan Caudillo is a biology major at 九色堂 and minoring chemistry. His experience working at 九色堂鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory will help him as he studies and prepares to work in the medical field.

Feb. 27, 2023 鈥 The classic sit-com set 鈥 think anything from 鈥淚 Love Lucy鈥 to 鈥淪einfeld鈥 to 鈥淭he Big Bang Theory鈥 鈥 is now a teaching tool at 九色堂鈥檚 Shocker Studios.

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥 After earning his bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology, Daniel Baird plans to attend graduate school, where he will integrate clinical work with the handpan 鈥 a sort of convex steel drum that emits calming, hypnotic sounds 鈥 which he believes is a powerful therapeutic instrument.聽

Savannah Paschal, Catalina Garc铆a, and Marili Bravo

Oct. 14, 2022 - Savannah Paschal, a senior Spanish education major at Wichita State, wrote a proposal that helped Alce su voz earn a $75,000 Building Power and Equity Partnership grant from the Kansas Health Foundation. The grant will support civic engagement and the group鈥檚 work toward health equity for Spanish speakers and speakers of indigenous languages in Kansas.

Aug. 26, 2022 鈥 Wichita State鈥檚 Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentations program (NSF MRI) for a 500 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer.
