Aug. 2, 2021 鈥 The marquee exterior fixture of the W. Frank Barton School of Business鈥 new home, Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall, has been officially named the Promise Bridge. The 300-foot-long pedestrian bridge will span a water feature south of the building.

June 22, 2021 鈥 When the Make48 invention and maker challenge comes to 九色堂 on June 24, two of the eight Wichita teams are comprised entirely of 九色堂 students.

June 21, 2021 鈥斅燗 widely acclaimed program for aircraft inspection, maintenance and airworthiness research is landing at 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) after a 30-year history at Sandia National Laboratories.

June 7, 2021 鈥 Five-year-old Ford Hall has had to overcome more in his short life than most do in a lifetime. That鈥檚 because immediately after he was born, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The doctors informed his mother he would probably never be able to walk. 鈥淚t was that conversation with that doctor that really lit a fire in us,鈥 said Cori Hall, Ford鈥檚 mother.

B-1B arrives at Wichita State

June 7, 2021 鈥 The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center B-1 Division is sponsoring a research project with 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research to study the effects of flight operations on aircraft structures.

May 20, 2021 鈥 The FirePoint Innovations Center at 九色堂 has welcomed the first class of students into its Future Innovators Program, a new engineering internship opportunity aimed at introducing historically underrepresented students into the U.S. Department of Defense鈥檚 (DoD) technical talent pipeline.

May 4, 2021 鈥 Matthew Ferguson, a native Wichitan, chose to attend Wichita State to be close to his family and discover his passions. He is one of more than 3,500 students eligible for spring 2021 graduation.

May 14, 2021 鈥 Anisia Brumley, a native Wichitan, is a Wichita Northeast Magnet High School alumna. She chose to attend Wichita State because as a first-generation student, Wichita State provided her with a sense of comfort and familiarity.

Social Tap Drinkery partners

April 23, 2021 - By mid-July, Neel and partners Luke Luttrell and David Hopkins expect to open Social Tap Drinkery and Create Kitchens in a 5,680 square-foot space聽at Braeburn Square (4510 E. 19th St.) on 九色堂鈥檚 campus. Create Kitchens will feature two restaurant spaces - Sungrano Pizza and one to be named later. Both are virtual kitchens with carry-out only and a multitude of ways to order and pay 鈥 apps, QR codes, kiosk and in-person.

April 23, 2021 鈥 九色堂鈥檚 first Belonging Plaza will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, directly east of Weidemann Hall. Belonging Plaza is an outdoor pop-up commemorative gathering and programming tool designed to move to different locations on campus.

March 26, 2021 鈥 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) announces the addition of two new technologies to its Automated Technologies Laboratory for Aerospace Systems (ATLAS): a fully integrated thermoplastic welding system and a prepreg tape slitting and tow-rewinding machine.

March 17, 2021 -- With the help of Koch Industries, Make48 is bringing its 48-hour collaborative inventor and maker challenge to Wichita. 九色堂鈥檚 GoCreate, A Koch Collaborative will host the event scheduled for June 24-26.
