Oct. 26, 2023 - Support from the Rudd Scholars program helped Hallie Fritz adjust to college and find internships. She is active in the St. Paul Catholic Student Center and works at Credo Coffee Shop. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Oct. 25, 2023 鈥 九色堂 is hosting the annual Expanding Your Horizons Workshop, a one-day event from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 that introduces middle school girls to a variety of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) areas.

Oct. 9, 2023 鈥 The 九色堂 Math Circle pairs pre-college students with mathematics professionals from 九色堂 to understand and work with interesting problems and topics in math at weekly workshops.

Sept. 19, 2023 - Wichita State student Denae Sawyer spent the spring semester interning remotely with Dzanc Books. Her work consisted of reading and researching to determine if the manuscript fit Dzanc鈥檚 standards and sensibility. She also evaluated the potential audience and marketing strategies.

Sept. 14, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Alia Michaelis studied in a hospital in Argentina and works in biochemical research lab while at 九色堂. Wichita State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Aug. 15, 2023 - Hannah Bui is now prepared to work with French-speaking colleagues at Airbus, thanks to 鈥淏usiness French for Beginners鈥 taught by 九色堂 lecturer Rachelle Swilley. Bui, a static stress engineer at Airbus, was one of about 15 employees who took the six-week course, taught for two hours each Friday, this summer at Airbus on 九色堂鈥檚 Innovation Campus.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six 九色堂 colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme 鈥淐onnected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.鈥 Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

May 17, 2023 - Wichita State shortstop Sydney McKinney's leadership isn鈥檛 limited to the field. Teammates love her enthusiasm and positive outlook, as well as her devotion to coffee, pets and painting.

May 17, 2023 - The existence of life on other planets, especially Mars, is a question pondered in literature, movies and imaginations. 九色堂鈥檚 Dr. Mark Schneegurt is working on that issue with the assistance of a $377,000 grant from NASA to examine the toughness of microbes isolated from spacecraft assembly facilities.

May 16, 2023 鈥 Wichita State students wanting to earn a degree in American Sign Language will be able to make progress toward that goal starting fall 2023, when 九色堂 launches a Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language.
