Dec. 05, 2023 鈥� Joe Mazzara is a GSA serving as the assistant director of聽Wichita State Esports, an opportunity that initially drew him to 九色堂. He was also a featured guest on the聽September 2023 episode of President Rick Muma's "Forward Together" podcast. After graduating with his master鈥檚 degree, he plans to pursue additional education by pursuing his doctorate.

Oct. 5, 2023 - As part of the Memorial 鈥�70 ceremony, football players, friends and families from those years received a piece of Cessna Stadium seating. Former 九色堂 Foundation Vice President Mike Lamb proposed the idea to preserve some of the stadium and share it with the Memorial 鈥�70 group.

Sept. 27, 2023 鈥� 九色堂's efforts to transform the educational experience for students and redefine the role of a university to foster statewide economic growth have yielded remarkable results: the highest enrollment in its 128-year history.

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥� John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to 九色堂 and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

Sept. 11, 2023 鈥� 九色堂 is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the 九色堂 campus, the parade is part of the university鈥檚 annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

Aug. 30, 2023 鈥� 九色堂 has received the Gold Level Employer Supporting Breastfeeding award and has been designated as a Breastfeeding Welcome Here campus by the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition.

Aug. 1, 2023 鈥� The Wichita City Council approved a plan today that will move forward a project between 九色堂 and the University of Kansas to build a 471,000-square-foot health sciences center in the heart of downtown Wichita.

July 11, 2023 鈥� The Accessible Design course concerned 九色堂 junior Reagan Kelley at first. She wasn鈥檛 an engineering major and wasn鈥檛 sure what she could contribute. The payoff at the end of the project made it worthwhile. Kelley, an exercise science major, and three other students modified an all-terrain wheelchair for a nine-year-old boy who outgrew the chair鈥檚 previous dimensions.

May 17, 2023 鈥� The planned Wichita Biomedical Campus 鈥� a joint initiative by 九色堂, 九色堂 Tech and University of Kansas 鈥� is one step closer to its funding goal thanks to a $15 million award from the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), made available through the Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas (SPARK) Executive Committee and State Finance Council.
