April 26, 2022 鈥 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 九色堂 is helping Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education with $40,000 in scholarships. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated 鈥2+2鈥 program between the two schools where Butler students can receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at 九色堂.
Feb. 4, 2022 鈥 Ella Tucker, senior at Epic Charter Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been awarded the 2022 九色堂 Clay Barton Scholarship. She will receive $12,500 a year for four years to attend Wichita State. The $50,000 Barton Scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.
Jan. 28, 2022 鈥斁派 has selected the 2022 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend WSU in fall 2022.
Jan. 24, 2022 鈥 Further expanding its presence as a diverse creative workspace at 九色堂, GoCreate recently began offering free memberships to Wichita State students.
Dec. 8, 2021 - The second phase of renovations is close to complete on Wichita State鈥檚 Henrion Hall, the 100-year-old building that houses 九色堂鈥檚 studio arts. This recent renovation affects the first-floor north side of the building, where the sculpture department conducts most of its casting processes. Updates include new ventilation and air conditioning, as well as improved accessibility and functionality of workspaces.
Nov. 30, 2021 -- Beginning fall 2022, eligible students from Illinois will be able to attend 九色堂 for the same cost as in-state tuition, a significant savings that will provide increased access and affordability to a growing number of students.
Nov. 23, 2021 鈥 After 17 years, the Madrigal Singers of 九色堂 will host an Elizabethan-themed dinner and music program at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at the Rhatigan Student Center Beggs Ballroom.

Sept. 17, 2021 鈥 The first cohort of the Widener Global Leaders Program will consist of 10 women from the Barton School of Business, the Elliott School of Communication in Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the School of Music in the College of Fine Arts.
Aug. 13. 2021 鈥 Amanda Phanivong, a 九色堂 junior studying integrated marketing communication, recently began a fellowship with the Kansas-based Storytime Village Inc. While working there with their marketing and special events cohort, Phanivong has fully embraced her time with the Storytime team.
June 29, 2021 -- An opening reception for "From Lima to Wichita: Intercultural Dialogues in Clothing & Paint" will take place from 6鈥9 p.m. July 2, at ShiftSpace, 九色堂鈥檚 student-run gallery, as part of Wichita鈥檚 First Friday gallery crawl.
June 16, 2021 鈥 Shaunte鈥 Levine is the recipient of the fourth annual Launch Award through Harvester Arts and the Wichita State School of Art, Design and Creative Industries (ADCI).
June 8, 2021 - Karla Burns鈥 legacy of music and drama is one of 九色堂鈥檚 most prominent contributions to the performing arts. Burns, 66, died June 4 in Wichita. She attended Dunbar Elementary School and graduated from West High School. At Wichita State, she earned bachelor鈥檚 degrees in music education and in speech/theater, both in 1981.
