July 20, 2023 - As 九色堂鈥檚 Innovation Campus approaches its 10th anniversary, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities is recognizing the Innovation Campus鈥 role in cultivating research and innovation. The APLU today named 九色堂 as one of five finalists for its 11th annual Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) University Awards.

July 10, 2023 鈥 A new Jersey Mike鈥檚 Subs is set to open Wednesday, July 12 in 九色堂鈥檚 Braeburn Square on the Innovation Campus.

April 21, 2023 鈥 Three Wichita State researchers have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award. The award is given each year as a way to recognize novel ideas that have the potential to meet a market need and attract further funding once they have advanced through the early prototyping phase.

March 17, 2023 鈥 Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Director Steven Dettelbach and Senator Jerry Moran recently visited 九色堂 to announce plans for a unique new National Forensic Laboratory at Wichita State. The forensic laboratory is a new $75 million facility that will complement the Gun Crime Intelligence Center of Excellence and National Integrated Ballistic Information Network Correlation and Training Center, which were announced last summer.

March 13, 2023 鈥 The Innovation Campus, which is a physical extension of the 九色堂 main campus, is one of the nation鈥檚 largest and fastest-growing research and innovation parks, encompassing over 120 acres and is home to a number of global companies and organizations.

Feb. 22, 2023 鈥 Braeburn Square on 九色堂鈥檚 Innovation Campus is transforming the dining and shopping scene in Wichita. With four new tenants 鈥 Sesame Mediterranean Kitchen, Jersey Mike鈥檚, Two Hands Corn Dogs and Pedego Wichita 鈥 the shopping center is fully occupied and fast becoming a hub for all Wichitans to gather, feast and shop.

Jan. 20, 2023 - In December, the National Science Foundation Convergence Accelerator Track awarded a Wichita State-led team a $750,000 grant to gather information and create digital maps of indoor spaces that could be used by persons with disabilities.

Nov. 7, 2022 鈥 In recognition of its strong commitment to economic engagement, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) has designated 九色堂 as an Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) University.

Oct. 20, 2022 鈥 The FirePoint Innovations Center at 九色堂 wrapped up the second year of its Future Innovators Program, an engineering internship opportunity that provides some of America鈥檚 brightest engineers from historically under-represented communities the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and programs that directly support the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Center and the Department of Defense.

Oct. 3, 2022 鈥 A research team led by researchers with Wichita State鈥檚 College of Engineering and Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their proposal, "The Development of a Smart Telehealth ECG and Human Activity Monitoring System to Improve Cardiovascular health of Older Adults."

Sept. 2, 2022 鈥 The U.S. Department of Commerce鈥檚 Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced today will award $51.4 million to 九色堂 to aid in the rapid development and adoption of emerging smart manufacturing technologies for South Kansas.

Sept. 1, 2022 鈥 A 九色堂 research team has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for their proposal, 鈥淓xamining the feasibility of a wearable device for fetal heart rate monitoring through interdisciplinary research.鈥

Aug. 8, 2022 鈥 The U.S. Army Aviation enterprise is collaborating with 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research to develop an AH-64 Apache Digital Twin in a contract that kicked off with a ribbon-cutting event on campus last week.
