Jan. 17, 2020 -- Audrey Korte, a Wichita State graduate student studying representation and the news and recent graduate of Wichita鈥檚 Civic Engagement Academy, has been selected to participate in the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders鈥� Reciprocal Exchange.

Jan. 16, 2020 - VivO2 earned a 2020 Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month. ClearObject.com named VivO2 one of its top three things to see at the show, a six-day gathering of industry professionals from around the world. Founder and CEO Tammy Dorsey and co-founder and CTO James Balman are Wichita State Master of Innovation Design students. Both attended CES, which attracted around 170,000 attendees.

Jan. 2, 2020 - At FirePoint, 九色堂 students work with Army officials, private industry and academics. The combination of experience, exposure to those areas and networking puts students in position to consider different career paths.

Dec. 19, 2019 -- Those interested in a career in biomedical engineering just received another degree option that鈥檚 closer to home. 九色堂 and Butler Community College have joined forces to create a 2+2 agreement that articulates a complete four-year plan of study in biomedical engineering.

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Stanford University鈥檚 Hasso Plattner Institute of Design has named three Wichita State students as University Innovation Fellows. Jacob Burns, Molly Carlson and Savannah Redfern will join more than 2,000 Fellows at 267 institutions worldwide.

Dec. 17, 2019 -- Thanks to Andrew Swindle, 九色堂's hydrogeology professor, the university now has a hydrogeology field site for students and researchers. This site is the only one of its size in Kansas and the surrounding states.

Dec. 13, 2019 -- Katlyn, a student at USD 259鈥檚 Levy Special Education Center, has cerebral palsy and is nonverbal. Three Wichita State Engineering students have made communication a lot easier for her as a class project this semester.

Dec. 9, 2019 -- A $1.25 million gift from the estate of 九色堂 alumnus Brenton D. Myers will support the 九色堂 College of Engineering, where Myers earned the degree that helped him build a lifelong career in engineering and airport planning.

Dec. 9, 2019 --聽Five teams of 九色堂 students emerged as finalists in the Koch Innovation Challenge, held Dec. 6.

Dec. 6, 2019 -- The fourth annual Koch Innovation Challenge, sponsored by Koch Industries and held at Wichita State, will take place from 9 a.m.-noon on Friday, Dec. 6, in 107 Devlin Hall. Teams compiled from the Introduction to Technology & Innovation Freshman seminar course compete for funding to pursue their big idea venture.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Javier Martinez and Jonathan Lozano hadn鈥檛 even intended to earn Wichita State鈥檚 inaugural Parkinson Scholarship in 2018, but they did. Both first-generation college students share their stories of adversity and triumph and offer words of encouragement for future first-gen college hopefuls.

Dec. 5, 2019 -- A class project brought color to the sky above Wichita 鈥� and helped one student land a job.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Natalie Dutton, a senior sport management student and member of the Shocker bowling team, got the chance of a lifetime this summer as an intern with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nov. 26, 2019 -- Nathan Light, a senior studying video production at 九色堂, spent his summer creating a documentary over the slapstick comedy film, King Kung Fu. The filming process taught Nathan the ins and outs of video production, editing and seeing his vision come to life.
