Oct, 1, 2021 - The 777 conversion program will provide unique applied learning opportunities for 九色堂 engineering and 九色堂 Tech students. NIAR鈥檚 ability to provide applied learning experience for students will expand with a $2.1 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration for the purchase and installation of equipment for the institute鈥檚 Flight Test Research Center and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility on South Oliver near Spirit AeroSystems.

Sept. 27, 2021 鈥� 九色堂 has been chosen to host the 2023 Science Olympiad National Tournament, bringing national STEM notoriety to the university and up to 7,000 visitors and tourists to Wichita.

Sept. 24, 2021 鈥� 九色堂鈥檚 Hughes Metropolitan Complex has switched to drive-thru testing 鈥� a move that will allow the Wichita community to spend less time in line and get test results faster. The Metroplex Testing Site (5015 East 29th St. North) is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Results of the PCR test are available within 24-36 hours after testing. No appointment is needed.

Sept. 21, 2021 鈥� A 九色堂 student has wielded her love of nature into an internship with one of the nation鈥檚 leading outdoors companies.

Sept. 20, 2021 -- The College of Health Professions has reorganized its general health science courses into the Scientific Foundations Division. The restructuring is intended to expand student exposure to clinical expertise of the college鈥檚 faculty, as well as the unique facilities within the college. The new divisional structure will build on the college鈥檚 nationally recognized educational experience for students in the health professions.聽

Sept. 13, 2021 - Student feedback helped guide the design of Frank and Kay Woolsey Hall. They asked for collaboration, and they asked for caffeine. Woolsey Hall, the new home for the W. Frank Barton School of Business, is 30 to 40 percent finished and expected to be complete in late spring 2022 and ready for summer 2022 classes.

Sept. 8, 2021 鈥� WERX at 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) has received its first Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft. As part of its rapidly growing Maintenance Repair and Overhaul program, 九色堂-NIAR WERX, in conjunction with Kansas Modification Center, will convert the passenger aircraft into a freighter that will be transferred to an external client to meet the growing needs of the e-commerce and express cargo market.

Aug. 18, 2021 鈥� The Department of Defense (DoD) has designated South Kansas as a Defense Manufacturing Community (DCM), making the region eligible for $5 million through the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation鈥檚 Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program. The initiative is led by 九色堂鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR).

Aug. 13. 2021 鈥� Amanda Phanivong, a 九色堂 junior studying integrated marketing communication, recently began a fellowship with the Kansas-based Storytime Village Inc. While working there with their marketing and special events cohort, Phanivong has fully embraced her time with the Storytime team.

Aug. 13, 2021 鈥� For the eighth consecutive year, 九色堂 will receive a $125,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration for specialized training, mentoring, and technical assistance for research- and development-focused small businesses under the Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program.
