Aug. 2, 2021 鈥� The marquee exterior fixture of the W. Frank Barton School of Business鈥� new home, Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall, has been officially named the Promise Bridge. The 300-foot-long pedestrian bridge will span a water feature south of the building.

July 13, 2021 鈥� For the first time in Wichita State history, the Barton School of Business has awarded three, multi-year scholarships to transfer students committed to joining the business program, in association with the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

June 29, 2021 -- An opening reception for "From Lima to Wichita: Intercultural Dialogues in Clothing & Paint" will take place from 6鈥�9 p.m. July 2, at ShiftSpace, 九色堂鈥檚 student-run gallery, as part of Wichita鈥檚 First Friday gallery crawl.

June 29, 2021 - Alicia Sanchez is assistant dean of students and director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at 九色堂. In May, she earned a senate-confirmed appointment to the Kansas Human Rights Commission as an At-Large member.

June 22, 2021 鈥� When the Make48 invention and maker challenge comes to 九色堂 on June 24, two of the eight Wichita teams are comprised entirely of 九色堂 students.

June 21, 2021 -- Wichita State is holding a community event, Shockers Under the Stars, beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, outside the Ulrich Museum of Art on the main campus.

Media and the community are invited to attend the JunteenthICT Parade, sponsored by 九色堂鈥檚 Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The parade celebrates the 156th anniversary of Juneteenth during the JuneteenthICT Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19. The parade route will begin at 17th Street and Hillside, going west, and eventually ending at McAdam鈥檚 Park, where the all-day Juneteenth ICT celebration will take place.

June 17, 2021 鈥� Logan Brown, a Kansas entrepreneur and Harvard Law School student, loves her home state so much that when she decided to pay it forward, she partnered with 九色堂 to help propel women in business.

June 16, 2021 鈥� Shaunte鈥� Levine is the recipient of the fourth annual Launch Award through Harvester Arts and the Wichita State School of Art, Design and Creative Industries (ADCI).

June 7, 2021 鈥� Five-year-old Ford Hall has had to overcome more in his short life than most do in a lifetime. That鈥檚 because immediately after he was born, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The doctors informed his mother he would probably never be able to walk. 鈥淚t was that conversation with that doctor that really lit a fire in us,鈥� said Cori Hall, Ford鈥檚 mother.

May 25, 2021 - The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 九色堂 has partnered with the 九色堂 Alumni Association to launch the college鈥檚 first alumni council. The Barton School of Business Alumni Council consists of professionals who received their bachelor鈥檚 and/or master鈥檚 degree from the business school and represents different regions, degrees and backgrounds.

May 18, 2021 - The Wichita Rowing Association founded 九色堂 crew in 1974, and that shared history remains important to many former Shockers. On May 8, the WRA dedicated its $250,000 Riverside Rowing Center Boathouse at Riverside Park on the Little Arkansas River.聽

May 17, 2021 -- The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 九色堂 has partnered with 九色堂 Tech to create a pathway program for 九色堂 Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree.

Sierra Brown chose to come to Wichita State for the welcoming environment provided by the in the Shocker Nation prior to choosing a university. While at Wichita State, she participated in the Professional Edge Program and served as president of the Barton School Dean鈥檚 Ambassadors.

May 13, 2021 鈥� Students enrolled in Integrated Marketing Communication Campaigns with Dr. Lisa Parcell have been working with Alce Su Voz, Riverfest and the Kansas Nonprofit Chamber to develop full marketing communication campaigns.
