Graduate research explores glioblasoma tumor cell invasion in 3D environments

Biological Sciences students can pursue their own research projects.

Graduate student Pranita Kaphle always dreamed of making a difference in cancer research. Now she is researching the migration of cancer cells in a 3D environment and hopes her studies will help find a way to inhibit tumor cell invasion.

Curriculum

A major in biological sciences, leading to a Bachelor of Arts with a biological/biomedical emphasis, requires a minimum of 30 credit hours of biological sciences coursework. Up to 40 hours may be taken for credit.

Careers

Graduates of the biological sciences program are frequently employed as technicians in labs involved in basic biological research or applied research. They work in fields such as the physical, engineering and life sciences, education, pharmaceutical manufacturing and scientific consulting.
