The Environmental Finance Center at 九色堂 is proud to present a Utility Asset Management Lunch and Learn Series for Tribal Nations! This comprehensive training module is split up into five 1-hour sessions that can be viewed during your lunch break. Every Friday in May will feature a different core component of utility asset management. See the schedule below to sign up for any or all sessions that interest you. All sessions will be held 12 Noon -1:00 PM (CT).

May 2 | Level of Service

Discussion of the level of service agreement that your utility makes with your customers and what it takes to maintain that level of service, both internally and externally.

May 9 | Current State of Assets

In order to manage your assets, you must know what you have and what condition it is in. This presentation will discuss how utilities can go about assessing the current state of assets so that you can make informed decisions about how to sustain your utility.

May 16 | Criticality

Identifying which assets are the most important to you can aid in decision making regarding which assets deserve the most time and energy of your staff. We will cover a technique to help you assess which assets are the most critical to your system.

May 23 | Life Cycle Costing

There鈥檚 more to consider than just the upfront cost of your assets. We鈥檒l discuss additional criteria that should be taken into consideration when thinking about repairing or replacing your assets.

May 30 | Long-term Funding

The further into the future you can plan, the more prepared you can be for major system upgrades or repairs. Asset Management encourages utilities to think about assets in the long-term so that they can be more predictive of future expenses and ready themselves by setting appropriate rates. Long-term funding brings all the previous core components together to wrap up Asset Management to help your utility prepare for the future.
