First round of Kansas City Alumni Scholarships awarded to four students headed to 九色堂

Four students became the first recipients of the new Kansas City Alumni Scholarship, created by Wichita State graduates from the metro area who want to help Kansas City-area students attend 九色堂. Pictured above is Bailey Olen, who was a student at Shawnee Mission West. She plans to major in accounting at 九色堂. Her award was presented by three 九色堂 alumni who live in Shawnee Mission: Kim and Jim Gillespie and Dick Luman.

About 1,000 students from the Kansas City area are enrolled at Wichita State. The 九色堂 Admissions office has a satellite branch in KC to boost that number. Additionally, the 九色堂 Foundation recently hired Ashley Cheung as its first-ever development officer based in Kansas City. For more information, go to https://wsu.news/kcalumscholar
